Building a green wall
2017
In 2016, I co-founded and registered a non-governmental organization (NGO) who's purpose was to develop environmental educations in high schools across Ottawa, Ontario. A year later, I designed and built a green wall in a high-school hallway.
The hallway, with the planned out distribution of plants. Indigenous, robust plants were prioritized.
The wall was made up of plastic baskets hitched onto a grid of wood drilled into the wall. The irrigation system consisted of a dripping wire running behind the baskets. I chose the specific location due to its proximity to bathroom plumbing.
The finished product! The wall is used in science classes to teach about native plant species and eco-diversity. Hundreds of high school students pass it every day.
